Sometimes I need a break from performing...so I can relax and play music
plus check out a wicked live version of "Witness the Death of Rock and Roll" from our recent concert in Sharbot Lake!
It has been a busy summer, with 10 shows over the past two weeks alone, and performing in a number of different configurations. Good times indeed, but I do look forward to giving my weary bones a rest this weekend.
When my schedule gets this busy it takes my back to the old days, when playing 20 shows per month was a fairly regular occurrence. I stand in awe of my younger self."How did you do that?", I ask. 😄 I'm still on the hamster wheel but it's spinning a bit slower than it used to.

Music is my life. I am so wrapped up in it creatively, and I love to perform live. I have to remind myself to take a break now and then. Performing is emotionally and physically taxing, and as I am now firmly entrenched in middle age, that tax has definitely gone up!
So what will I do with my weekend off you ask? Why, play music of course!!
That is the funny thing about being a professional musician. Your work is your play. Your work is your therapy. Your work is your social connection. Your work is your love. It can be hard to put that down for a minute and just chill.
I'm looking forward to jamming and hanging out with friends this weekend. No timelines. No long drives. No pressure to perform. No loading in and no loading out. A nice and relaxed musical reset before what will be a busy month of shows in September.
Hope you have a safe and happy Labour Day weekend!

A shout out to the DRR fans who came out to see us in Sharbot Lake this past Sunday. It was really tough getting the numbers we needed for a financially successful outing, but we managed to squeak by with the help of your enthusiastic merchandise purchases. Thank you for being there and supporting grass roots DIY rock and roll!!
We recorded a ferocious version of “Witness The Death of Rock and Roll” at this concert. The ending of the song is quite bombastic! I decided to use my mic stand as a slide. Check it out…
